Mindful Living: Foundations in Mindfulness

This eight week class will teach you the essential principles of mindfulness (Vipassana) meditation. Each week guides you through all you need to know about beginning and deepening a mindfulness meditation practice to bring greater joy into your everyday life. You will learn how to tame your mind and open your heart to BE connected to the goodness and beauty that lives within and around you. 

The instructor received training from UMASS Center for Mindfulness, and is skilled at creating a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment. 

Through group and individualized instruction you will: 

  • Learn how to integrate mindfulness into your everyday life

  • Learn ways to ease the inner critic so you feel more confident

  • Learn how to unhook from thoughts and emotions that create anxiety to restore inner calm.

  • Learn how to be less reactive and respond more wisely with choices that serve your relationships, your growth and wellbeing.

  • Learn how to navigate intense emotions & challenging situations

  • Cultivate positive states of mind like—gratitude, forgiveness, lovingkindness, joy & compassion

  • Membership to a mindfulness community group called An Awaken Heart, this is a supportive practice group that meets regularly to continue learning and nourishing our mindfulness practice and community.

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS CLASS?

If you are interested in establishing a personal mindfulness practice, this is the place to start. Mindfulness has benefited many people reporting a variety of conditions and concerns-

Stress- including work, school, family, financial, illness, aging, grief, uncertainty about the future, and feeling out of control

Medical conditions- including chronic illness, pain, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, cancer, heart disease, asthma, GI distress, skin disorders, and many other conditions

Psychological distress- including anxiety, panic, fatigue, and sleep disturbances

Prevention and Wellness- including health enhancement and learning how to take good care of yourself, feeling a greater sense of balance and cultivating inner resilience.

Mindfulness Class fees are on a sliding scale basis. This allows individuals to pay according to individual means. There are three rates- Sustainable, Mid, and Base.         

Payment at the Base rate covers about 50% of what is needed. To balance our budget and to wisely steward our resources we rely on your honesty and generosity. The Sustainable rate represents what is needed to create a sustainable livelihood. If you can afford this level, you assist our efforts to offer lower sliding-scale rates and ongoing financial subsidies.

As you look to find new ground and resiliency in 2024 it’s important to give yourself ways to pause and reflect, heal and regenerate. If you’re like most of us, without a nudge to commit to wintering well, the pace of the outer world will keep you going and going, doing and doing, without ever pausing to experience the sweet essence of winter ~ to REST and REGENERATE in a meaningful way.

The Art of Wintering is YOUR gentle nudge to commit one moon cycle to give yourself the gift of soothing attention to nourish your body, mind, spirit with tender loving care.

From the first New Moon in January to the New Moon in February The Art of Wintering gives you a sweet foundation to unfold the new year aligned with your highest intentions and values.

Each week we’ll nurtured you with ways to nest and rest, reflect and release, heal and rebuild.

You’ll feel gently enriched by a community of fellow nesters to offer you just the right amount of energy to inspire your winter’s journey.

We officially begin a few days before the first New Moon on January 7th and end a few days after the next New Moon on February 11th.

Here’s what is included:

  • Weekly prompts, live videos, mindful meditations, and other gentle contemplative activities. The overarching intentions for these activities is to help you trust your true nature to nurture your one of kind gifts only you bring to this world.

  • Three zoom connections to build a heart centered fellowship to witness and support your unfolding journey of wellbeing; The first zoom meeting launches intention, the second sustains energy and focus to create 2024 soul cards and visions maps; and the third zoom prepares you for a spring rebirth.

  • You’ll receive support to surrender to the medicine of rest to deepen a flow of wellbeing into new self care routines.

  • We offer guidance to source higher states of consciousness to call upon the regenerative and benevolent life force energy that flows through all things.

  • Recipes, meal plans, teas, immune boosting instruction to use food and plants as medicine.

  • Cacao Ceremony Booklet and Guided Cacao Ceremonies

  • Learn how to align your energy with each phase of the moon cycle and receive instruction to have a FULL MOON Bathing Experience

Midsummer Potluck and Solstice Peace Fire

We have been busy expanding our outdoor landscape to offer holistic, innovative learning experiences and outdoor events. 

And now that we are just about done with this first phase we would like to invite our loyal customers and friends to celebrate with us.

Feel free to drop by in the afternoon and/or evening.
